The 2023 ISBHF World Masters Ball Hockey Championships was held between August 30-September 3, 2023 at the RiverWorks in Buffalo, NY. The Masters age group is for players age 35 and over.

Canada took home the Gold Medal in both the Men’s and Women’s Divisions with victories over the United States in both Divisions.  This was Canada’s Fourth Gold Medal for both the Men and Women.  

In the Men’s Division, Canada defeated the United States in a shoot-out after the USA stormed back from a 3-1 deficit late in the 3rd period.  Many hockey fans have said it was one of the greatest championship games in ISBHF history.  For the United States Men, this was their highest finish ever in the Master’s Division.  Click here to watch the game.  Greece defeated Canada Saskatchewan for the Bronze Medal, their first Medal ever in the Master’s Division.

Men’s All Star Team

In the Women’s Division, Canada was a powerhouse and went undefeated throughout the tournament, and easily defeated the United States in the Gold Medal game 3-0.  Click here to watch the Gold Medal game.  Great Britain took home their first ever Women’s Division medal with the Bronze.

Women’s All Star Team

The first ISBHF Men’s Masters World Championship took place in Bratislava, Slovakia, in 2010, while the Women’s Masters tradition started in Tampa Bay, USA, in 2014. The Men’s and Women’s Masters events are held jointly and bi-annually.
