Hong Kong was the smallest team in the tournament but arguably the fastest and they found their chemistry heading into the gold medal match with a great team from Great Britain.

Hong Kong looked to secure it’s first ever gold medal at the WC!

Both teams traded penalties in a scoreless first, and then Hong Kong got to work on special teams in the 2nd, scoring a shorthanded and powerplay goal to pull ahead 2-0 heading into the 3rd period. They added another in the 3rd, and went on to win 3-0 on the back of Matt Lui’s 3rd shutout of the Championship!

Lokki Kwan, captain of Hong Kong, spoke to the importance of playing together before the championship and taking that team chemistry forward in such an intense week of games!
